How ta get ta the Emporium
  • Emporium now has a ramp

the emporium is now accessible on both levels by wheelchairs. the shop front already had a from-street ramp, but we have now installed one further in which takes you to the small second level in the space. the incline is quite steep, please be warned, and unfortunately the toilet which we fixed up is not a big space, and there are no handles. we would love any feedback, input and advice as to how to make the space more accessible to anyone. please email!

Art Being Its Own Medecine 18th-21st March 2010

Art Being Its Own Medecine 18th-21st March 2010

The theme I am addressing is Art being its own medicine; expressing the language of the soul.

We are the subject and object of our experience; we define our world. In the encounter of making art we can connect with ourselves in new and exciting ways; anything is possible.

Working with art as medicine has deepened a sense of who I am and been empowering to the quality of my life experience. The work is interested in the parts of ones unlived self, finding its resolution in art; art being its own medicine. I highly value the therapeutic benefit of artistic expression for the benefit of all. The art work offers a breathing space for the soul.

The overall feel of the exhibition is an experience, moving between various mediums and formations and moods. This will take the form of drawings, paintings, sculptures and installation. The artworks on one level have a dreamlike quality that imbue positivity and lightness and on another level express the dark depths of our human soul, both which can be attributed to the healing process of creativity that we can all associate with.

Art as Medicine is empowering and life changing.
