An Exhibition by Mingle and Schmooze
Feeling peculiar will be a mixed media exhibition running from the 26th – 31st of march, it will be involving sculpture, painting, photography and drawn work, the work will be mainly wall based, but also with some sculptures of various sizes. The back room will be used to project stop frame animations. The upper level will be used as a stop frame animation studio, where people visiting the exhibition can get involved by adding their own piece to a ongoing participatory project which will be shown later. This exhibition encourages visitors to engage and interact with the work surrounding them, as opposed to merely observing two dimensional “art”.
Flotsen Mingle
Crawling through the backwaters of the city and scraping the bottom of the gene pool barrel creatures, caricatures and creeps evolve. Inspired by the miserable realization of what it is to exist, mingles dark, dire portraits haunt and chill the air around, however with a dusty frosting of cutesie naivety and a wry smile here and there , it’s not all doom and gloom.
Jetson Schmooze
peeping into tiny worlds of paper and wood, the childish love of pop-up books comes alive in these mini installations. Some of them set against twisted visuals and animations. Each mecanised illustration altered if the viewer chooses to poke or pull the mechanised puppet pieces. A wish for Images to step out of the frame and walk around the gallery next to you puts people in the ongoing animation that will be the second part of an animation made on site with all the pieces incorporated.
